Notre Dame Game Summaries

Notre Dame hosts the Purde Boilermakers in a Battle for the Shillelagh Trophy.

Purdue would recieve the ball first and would move to the 43 of Notre dame and throw and Int at the 6yd line and ND would take over from there.

Nd would move alittle bit on the run but throw an INT for themselves at their 25 and Purdue would have great field position for their second drive of the game

Purdue would take very little time and take the lead on blown coverage to take and early 7-0 lead.

Notre Dame would start at their 19 after the Kickoff and would get to the 18 of and make a Fg that hit the right upright and went in making it 7-3 Purdue

Purdue would start at the 16 and drive right down the field and miss a fg from the 26 and give Notre Dame the ball back

2nd quarter

Notre Dame would take over at the 26 2 runs and a long pass would put them at the 3 yard line and 2 runs later would they would be 3rd and goal from the 6 when Crist would hit Floyd on a 6yd td pass making it 10-7 ND

Purdue would start from the 17yd line and would driv to get a fumbled forced on them and ND would take over from the 16 with 3:14 to go in the half

Nd would drive down to Purde 7 and 3rd and goal with 9 seconds left Crist to Floyd would drive again on a crossing route with 5 seconds left 17-7 ND

3rd quarter

Nd would get the ball to start the half at the 25 yard line 1 run from allen and they would be setup at the 12 yard line of Purdue 1 run and a PA later td Crist to Ragone 24-7 ND

Purdue would take over at the 20 after a touchback.and would get to the 49 and on 4th and 2 they would covert and get a 1st down to continue the drive and would get a td and xp to make it 24-14 with 3:30 to go in the 3rd quarter

Nd would take over from the 31yd line and would punt from Purdue 43yd line and a horrible punt Purdue would take over at the 29yd line

4th quarter

Purdue would move down the field and score a td making it 24-21 with 6:47 left to play

ND would start at the 26 and and on a corner route wCrist would hit TE Rudolpg from 43 yds out after the corner goes for the pick and misses giving ND a 31-21 lead with 5:15 left

Purdue would take over from the 19yd line and would fumble at the ND 35 yard line and ND would recover with 4:25 left in the game

Nd would try to eat soe clock but 2 runs later they were 3rd and 13 and would throw an incompletion and be forced to punt with 2:57 left

Purdue would take over at their 39yd line and ND coverage is confused like most of the game and Purdue would score a td with 2:24 left in the game making it 31-28

Nd would fumble the kickoff even while holding r1 and Purdue would pick it up and score a td making it 35-31 Purdue with 2:16 left on the clock

Nd would get ball at the 22yd line and drive down the field and score with 30 seconds left on a 15yd pass from Crist to Floyd taking a 38-35 lead

Purdue would get ball at 25 from the kickoff and with 6 seconds left they would get tackled in bounds and ND would secure the victory 38-35

Yes he did Crist only threw 23 times so it was a real nice mix of pass and running

Notre Dame travels to Navy for another rivalry game against the option attack. They are trying to improve off their victory against Purdue in the first week.

1st quarter

Navy would start the game with the ball and would be forced to punt from their 31 and Notre Dame would start at thier 32

Notre Dame would move down the field and hughes would run it in from the 1yd line making it a 7-0 games

Navy would start from the 20 on their next drive and score on a 78yd pass tying the game 7-7

2nd quarter

Notre Dame would start at the 26 and Allen is continuing to have injury problems and Crist would hit Floyd from 18yds out to regain lead 14-7

Navy would go 3 and out and be forced to punt and Notre dame would take over from their 45

Notre Dame would get Allen back for alittle bit before he gets urt again and Hughes would come in and run it in from 18 yards out to give ND a 21-7 lead with 2:09 to go in the half

Navy would get ball at 18 and wa tipped ball and make it 21-14 from 17 yards out with 20 seconds left till halftime

Allen would return the Kickoff to Navy 30 yard line giving ND 11 seconds to score and would kick a fg to end the half 24-14

3rd quarter

Notre Dame would start at the 24yd line and Allen would run it in from 4yds out making it 31-14

Navy would make it to their 49 before they were forced to punt the ball away Notre Dame will start at 24yd line

Notre Dame would run the ball all the way to the endzone and cap it off with a 6yd run by Allen and starters were taken out up 38-14 with 57 seconds left in the 3rd quarter

4th quarter

Navy would start from the 20 and score quickly in the air and fail the 2pt conversion making it 38-20 with 6:48 to go in the game

Notre Dame would take over at the 21 and run the clock and throw an int with 3:05 left on 3rd and 8 at the 32

Navy would continue to pass the ball and score again because ND has the biggest retards in the world on defense can't cover man can play the zone and Navy gets 2pt conversion making it 38-28

Notre Dame would recover the onside kick and run the clock and kick a 30yd fg with 43 seconnds left in the game to make it 41-28

Navy would move the ball and lose their Qb for 2 weeks in the final drive and score with no time on the clock to make the final score 41-35

Notre Dame travels to Byu for this early season matchup. Byu and their Air raid attack is going to test Notre Dame secondary for this one.

1st Quarter

Notre Dame will get ball first and start from the 20. Notre dame would fumble on the byu 39

Byu would move right down the field and score a td making it 7-0

Notre Dame would answer on a Hughes 1yd run making it 7-7

Notre Dame would get an Interception and take it to the Byu 36 to end the 1st quarter

2nd Quarter

Allen would fumble for the 2nd time in the game this time in the redzone

Byu would go 3 and out and punt the ball away

Notre Dame would move down the field threw the air and score on a Rudolph td rec making it 14-7

Byu had its second 3 and out in a row and be forced to punt again

With Crist getting hurt Notre Dame would be forced to punt and time would run out on Byu going into halftime Notre Dame 14-7

3rd quarter

Byu would have a long td pass making it 14-14

Crist would come out healthy in 3rd quarter but throw an Int while getting hit on his first drive back

Byu would get a fg and take a 17-14 lead with 1:52 to go in the 3rd

Notre Dame would drive down through the air and score a td making it21-14

4th Quarter

on 4th and 7 from the N.D 25 Byu would go for it and get 1st down but would kick a fg and make it to put the score 21-20

Nd would hit Floyd and make it 28-20 with 4:54 to go in the game

Byu would go 3 and out and punt the ball to nd

Nd would be forced to punt not being able to get 1st down on the ground with 1:56 left to go

On 4tg and goal from the 9 Byu score a td with 46 seconds left but fail on 2pt conversion making it 28-26 with 46 seconds left

ND would get a 1st down and kneel on the ball for a 28-26 victory

The Battle for the Ireland trophy was played at Boston College and this game would be very costly for the Fighting Irish. The lost starting HB Allen for 10 weeks. In a game where the running game couldnt get anything going, Allen was the leading rusher for the Fighting Irish this season and was the big hopes in the running game. He will definately be missed. Notre Dame struggled throughout this game on offense as the would only score 13 points but that would be enough as N.D stuffed BC on a 4th and goal from the 1 in the first quarter and on 4th and 17 with one minute to go from the N.D 25 would hold B.C to a 16 yard gain and BC would come up just short as N.D would get one first down and run out the clock from their. Crist also got injured 3 times in this one but missed very little time.
